Sauce Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil Use extra-virgin for better flavor.
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced Fresh garlic for best flavor.
  • 1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes Adjust according to spice preference.
  • 28 oz Canned Crushed Tomatoes Provides a hearty sauce.
  • to taste Salt and Pepper Essential for seasoning.
  • 1 cup Fresh Basil, chopped Adds brightness to the dish.
  • to taste Parmesan cheese, grated Generously sprinkle on top before serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve some pasta water.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in chopped fresh basil and combine the cooked spaghetti with the sauce, tossing to coat evenly.

Serving

  • Plate the spaghetti in bowls and top with grated parmesan cheese. Serve hot.

Notes

Great for leftovers. Store in an airtight container and reheat with a splash of olive oil or water to revive the sauce.
